Australian software company Axe Group has partnered with ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho, to tighten its data security and improve operational efficiency.

Entrusted with vast amounts of personally identifiable information and sensitive data by its clients, including government organisations, Axe Group faced a significant challenge in managing and securing its IT infrastructure, especially when it came to patch management.

According to Axe Group head of IT risk and security Gaurav Verma, there were multiple challenges involved in handling cybersecurity manually, as the company had done historically.

"Previously, patch management was done manually and involved continual and ongoing disruptions to many end users," recalled Verma. “The process was cumbersome and required constant communication with users to update their systems, posing a considerable operational burden on the IT team.”

Seeking to streamline this critical process, Axe Group turned to ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus. Satisfied with the solution, the company upgraded its capabilities to ManageEngine Endpoint Central.

Axe Group engaged with ManageEngine due to its “excellent pricing, support, and its high-quality products.”

Axe Group said ManageEngine’s support team had a fast response time, taking less than one minute compared to 10-minute waiting time with other providers.

This system has not only addressed patch management but also automated the installation of third-party applications, reducing manual efforts even further.

"Now we can automate the installation of third-party applications along with the Windows patches. This has reduced the IT team’s manual efforts by up to 25%," said Verma.

“The ability for end users to install pre-approved applications without administrative privileges not only simplified the process but also improved the overall user experience.”

Axe Group said the transition to Endpoint Central saw the product’s ability to save time and bandwidth, allowing the company’s IT team to save time and money.
