Hardware manufacturer ASUS has announced the ASUS Zenbook Duo, the world's first 14" dual-screen OLED laptop, powered by AI. It's available for pre-order now, and will be available from 14 February 2024.
The new laptop joins the ASUS Zenbook line, which has been a premium ultraportable laptop brand for over a decade. However, unlike its predecessors - or any laptop ever, anywhere - the ASUS Zenbook Duo contains not one, but two 14" 3K 120Hz ASUS Lumina 16:10 touchscreens. Yet, it remains ultraportable, with a weight of only 1.35kg while offering a huge 19.8" visual workspace.
The other specs are no slouch either; it's equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A 3.2 port, and HDMI 2.1. It's also AI-ready, with integrated AI acceleration in the processor, and Windows Copilot at the ready. There's no denying it's a high-end laptop that packs a punch despite its diminutive form. And, it can be yours for $3,999 from the ASUS e-Shop or JB Hi-Fi.
The two displays are joined by a lay-flat 180-degree hinge, and the laptop can be used in a vertical or horizontal orientation for a range of versatile usage options.

The Intel Core 9 processor comes equipped with an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI acceleration. It includes a 75Wh battery and a Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos audio system. The laptop can be equipped with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x memory, and up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
The two premium ASUS Lumina OLED displays are Dolby Vision certified, Pantone Validated, and have a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut to ensure vivid, accurate colour rendering. They are also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified for the deepest black levels, with 12Hz Motion Clarity for more frames per second. It all adds up to improve the display for fast-moving and smooth visuals.
Lumina OLED displays are T6UV Rheinland certified, which provides precision and accuracy for users when creating and consuming content. This technology also reduces blue light by up to 70%, making them the ideal display for prolonged screen time interaction. Blue light is known to cause visual discomfort, and these ASUS Lumina OLED displays emit 70% less blue light by shifting spectrum, which means colour accuracy is uncompromised unlike blue light filters.
The device’s ambient light colour sensor auto-adjusts for changes in the environment’s brightness and colour temperature. The touchscreen supports high-precision stylus input using the optional 4096 pressure-level ASUS Pen, and the built-in ScreenXpert software enables smartphone-like multitouch gesture support for intuitive operation: users can summon a virtual keyboard with two-fingers to maximise a window and more with simple multi-finger gestures.
The laptop also includes a detachable full-size Bluetooth keyboard, which can be placed on the lower display for a traditional laptop experience, also allowing the keyboard to charge via pogo-pin connectors with auto-positioning magnets. Thus, you can use the ASUS Zenbook Duo as a regular laptop, or as a gorgeous 19.8" screened beast that will bring out your greatest creativity. You can operate the dual screens in conjunction with the keyboard and trackpad, or by touch, or by stylus. However you prefer to work, the ASUS Zenbook Duo lets you do it.
However you orient it, built-in ScreenXpert software is intuitive and seamless, providing easy control of the displays however you use it - whether dual screen mode, desktop mode for side-by-side portrait screens, laptop mode, or even sharing mode, with the 180-degree hinge allowing everyone to view the screen without having to hundle around. You can rotate the content on the top screen by 180 degrees too.
Yet, despite all this, ASUS was determined not to sacrifice performance or functionality and to live up to the Zenbook heritage. With the Intel Core Ulita 9 processor, LPDDR5x RAM, PCIe 4.0 SSD, 75wH battery, and other components, it's a true powerhouse.
And, in this emerging AI-age, it's already AI-infused with the Intel-integrated Neural Processing Unit. This shifts workloads from the CPU and provides power-efficient AI acceleration for modern AI-enabled applications and means you can work, create, and game better, faster, and longer with less battery consumption.
Further, the Zenbook Duo features ASUS AI noise cancellation and a high-quality camera for all your conferencing needs.
It's been designed with sustainability and durability and incorporates recycled materials and is tested to US MIL-STD-810H standards with Corning Gorilla glass. It exceeds Energy Star power-efficiency requirements by up to 47.6%.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo UX8406 is available for pre-order now, and will be available from 14 February 2024 for $3,999.
