FullyRamped raises $US 2.3M to revolutionise sales training with AI-powered role-play

Imagine you just hired a brand-new business development employee. There’s role playing, and there’s as much documentation you can provide someone to train them, but nothing beats picking the phone up to get your dialogue dialled in. However, the risk of training on real clients is obvious and you can only try so many times. If you are in a growth phase, like I have been in before, hiring multiple business development members just compounds the issue.

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, many companies are investing in automation for customer interactions. Silicon Valley startup FullyRamped is taking a different approach by focusing on improving human-led sales conversations with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). The company recently announced a successful $US 2.3 million pre-seed funding round, led by notable investors such as BoxGroup, MaC Venture Capital, and NOMO Ventures, to take its AI-driven sales training platform to the next level.

The platform utilises real-time voice AI to create "Practice Prospects"—AI-powered personas that allow sales representatives to practice their skills without the pressure of real-world calls. These role-playing scenarios are designed to closely mimic actual sales interactions, helping sales reps refine their pitch, objection handling, and closing techniques. A result of such technology means agents are ready to talk to prospects sooner and the damage to good, real leads is minimised.

Why FullyRamped stands out

The standout feature of FullyRamped’s platform is its ability to offer natural conversations with minimal latency, giving users a highly realistic training environment. Instead of relying on traditional training methods, which are costly and time-intensive, companies can now offer their sales teams “infinite at-bats” to practice their skills. This innovation helps teams avoid wasting valuable leads during training while ensuring that sales representatives are well-prepared for real customer interactions.

FullyRamped's founder, Aaron Marks (pictured), an experienced Stanford engineer specialising in Natural Language Processing, developed the platform after realising that many sales teams lack adequate training environments. His background at Skiff and Verkada informed his vision for FullyRamped, which aims to complement rather than replace traditional training methods.

“We believe that AI is a tool to be used by humans, not a replacement for them,” said Marks. "People still prefer talking to people, especially in high-stakes B2B sales conversations."

Early success and future plans

Since launching just this past summer, FullyRamped has already garnered paying customers from tech-driven companies seeking to optimise their sales training. The platform's early adopters have reported strong results, and FullyRamped plans to expand its reach beyond tech sales to cover a wider array of customer-facing roles.

With its latest funding, FullyRamped is set to scale its operations, expand its team, and continue enhancing its product to meet growing demand. This investment marks a significant step in the company’s goal to redefine sales training by blending human expertise with the precision and scalability of AI.
