Telenor Cyberdefence acquires Combitech

Telenor Cyberdefence acquired the Norwegian operation of Swedish security company Combitech (formerly Watchcom Security Group) to bolster its expertise in the cybersecurity sector.

The deal comes just a month after Telenor established Telenor Cyberdefence.

The agreement will see the appointment of Norwegian Combitech business CEO Anders Thulin Røkke as Telenor Cyberdefence chief operation officer.

The parties did not disclose the value of the transaction.

Combitech’s Norwegian unit is based in Oslo, and is operated by just over 20 employees. It provides services in security consulting, penetration testing (authorized simulated cyberattack), and cloud-based monitoring and response.

Combitech’s security experts will work closely with Telenor Cyberdefence to add expertise and expand its customer base.

"Through the merger with Telenor Cyberdefence, we get the opportunity to become part of one of Norway's leading security environments and contribute to building a strong position in the market. The threat landscape is constantly changing, and we are convinced that together we will be able to offer our customers even better security services and support," says Combitech CEO Anders Thulin Røkke.
